Today, many Japanese students study music overseas, and there are more of them eager to learn with great musicians that they can only access to see on screens. But obviously the cost for one single lesson is not just a lesson fee (if you know where Japan is). That possibly loses their potential chance. This is the main reason why MID launched its online lesson project so that we can connect those musicians with professionals all over the world.
We are facing probably the worst time in life right now and needless to say, musicians are no exception losing jobs. We hope this project will help all musicians too.
Music International Direct (MID) is currently looking for professional musicians including conductors to be registered online tutors. Please read through the guideline below and submit the application form of registry at the bottom of this page if you agree with our policy. Any questions will be welcome. (Go to Contact Us page.)
Fees and Payments
Each tutor has different price set which will be discussed with MID (minimum price at 4,000JPY). 80% of the price will be paid through PayPal within a week after the lesson. (Refer to the price table.)
Multiple time slots (30min / 45min / 60min / longer) are set by each tutor so that students can choose how long they want to do.

Lesson Flow
STEP1 : For the moment, tutors will be noticed by MID when a lesson is requested. Then we arrange the schedule.
STEP2 : Once your lesson is scheduled, student’s bio and repertoire he/she plans to play will be given as well as a short instruction on how to start your session. Lesson will be done on Zoom or Skype. Which one would match to you will be discussed. If you’re not used to it, we can try it out before an actual lesson.
STEP3 : The URL that you will need will be sent to both you and student on the day before the session.
STEP4 : Text us when you start/end your lesson. Enjoy your session!
＊A webcamera (built-in/external) is needed. External microphone could help especially for piano.
＊A translator will join if your student needs one.
Cancellation Policy
In general case of cancellation from students’ side within a month from lesson date, full lesson fee will be paid to tutors. However, if schedule change is requested, your flexibility is much appreciated. Cancellation from tutors’ side, likewise, rescheduling would be positively considered.
